As I mentioned on Facebook, I want to celebrate Breastfeeding Awareness Month by giving away an evening of free mini sessions to nursing mamas and their babies. I was fortunate enough to be able to nurse both of my sons, and it was such a special time for me. Sadly, both of my babies are growing up all too quickly, but I thought this would be a way for me to support other mothers who are still enjoying their nursing days with their babies. I think education and support play a key role in a mother’s ability to nurse her children as long as they both desire, so hopefully we can work together to help educate and support local mothers
Here’s the details!
WHEN: Friday evening, August 10, 2012 (specific time to be announced, but plan on it being close to sunset)
WHERE: to be determined. It will be outdoors, most likely be in LaPorte
WHAT: 5 to 10 minutes of photography of you nursing your child. This will be tastefully done, however, I do believe breastfeeding is a natural, beautiful activity, so I will be open to whatever you are comfortable with.
WHAT YOU GET: one high-resolution digital image of your choice with the option to purchase other digital images and/or prints from a private online gallery. There will be NO OBLIGATION to purchase anything!!!
HOW: Send an e-mail to baleeimages@yahoo.com with your name, your child’s name, and the age your child will be in August. Please include your breastfeeding story – this can be anything you want it to be but could address questions or topics such as: How has nursing affected the way you view motherhood? Have you found others to be supportive of your decision to breastfeed? Explain how breastfeeding has been a challenge.
TIME SLOTS WILL BE VERY LIMITED, but I will try to accommodate as many mothers as possible! If you know a nursing mom, please spread the word. I look forward to sharing your stories and to sharing mine, too. Go mamas!
